Jane's partner in certain nefarious pursuits, including marriage, is
Fred Sandsmark, whose name she took in 1989. They met at a dance at Cal
State University, Hayward, where she was studying Computer Science and
he was a near-straight-A English major. They were both very active in
Student Activities and were part of a "family" of students who led the
way for more student events on campus. A couple of years of friendship
led to five or six years of dating.

They were married on April 2, a very romantic date ("for two") and not
on April 1. (Any couple who dates that long would be taking a risk
inviting folks to a wedding on April Fool's day.) They started their
married life in a bungalow in Hayward, California, then moved to
Roseville, California, a suburb of Sacramento, where Jane worked for
Hewlett Packard. Presently they live in Castro Valley, California in
the house Fred grew up in. They live with their niece Nicole, their
hound dog Delta, and a shy Calico cat named Fang.
