Formal education

Both of Jane's degrees
are in technical subjects. She completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 1985 at Cal State Hayward, now Cal State East Bay. After some time in the professional world, she returned to school at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, longing to learn even more about technology and particularly computer hardware and firmware, and Optics. She completed a B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering, an acheivement of which few individuals,especially women, can boast.

Programming, based on her first degree was interesting but she wanted to learn what was going on "inside the box". More technical knowledge also furthered her ability to be an "Explainer". She is currently taking Multimedia, and Graphic Design classes, back at Cal State Hayward. (whoops! I meant Cal State E.B.) Jane also has interests in technology's impact on public policy, the "digital divide", and the environment.
